According to rule: Throwing with intention to help another player with points will be reviewed by organizers in order to decide if there will be a punishment.
Naval is offically disqualified from WFF. In map "Out of time", you can clearly see how he tried to help his teammates to pass. Skip to 1:00:45, you can see how intentionally he realesed "w" and took this corner as he would play it for the first time. I even asked him if he knows about this rule and he admitted that he knows it. Getting answer that it was "fps dropped" is really hard to believe. We can't tolerate that players will break the rules and nothing will happen to them. All of you signed our rules of tournament when you registered your nick for WFF 20.
Gteatero will take his spot in the final as he was 5th. Good luck.
PS. Sad to see such move especially from your side.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
Helping people to an extent should not result in disqualification, however, considering the current situation for the final (half of the players from the same clan), this is a good warning. I jokingly came up with such scenarios (especially in the endgame) that with three mates you could basically secure the victory in a close match; this would have happened without this warning and is still likely to happen since you cannot remove a title based on similar actions (let's say on the last map player two and three throw the map for player one who later wins the tournament by this--you can disqualify the other two, but the winner stays). I'm shocked and sorry to see this.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
This WFF you could see tons of people entering at end of Darius v2 or "intentionally" throwing it by crashing hard in the turn to have less hp and give others chance in the "last 20th intense map", sadly it's something that was (kind of) ignored and people got away without a punishment, same as leaving after 14/15 maps and giving up.. I also realized that this WFF had "more FPS drops" than the previous ones (not blaming anyone, I saw xecN for example getting tons of fps drops and occasionally some players aswell, don't know what's the reason for that but I doubt it's only PCs fault), so there is never a complete 100% theory for what happens in the game, not saying this decision was wrong or something but you can never be completely sure about this
I am honestly shocked because I didn't expect this at all and I doubt anyone else did, but still this is something that can't be completely removed, but if it's a final one the rest of people can "learn a lesson"
Guys come on be fair and fight for yourself, it's a WFF title and you'll eventually pass if you play well, you don't need others help...

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
Imagine being the organizer of the tournament and not spending a little time to talk with the affected player to clear things up before. The fact that you immediately disqualified me without even discussing it with me before is surprising... I even told you I had fps drops, yet, for some reason, you didn't believe me. I recognize I released W in that part of Out of time, but as I told you, I had fps drop and I thought I was going to fail, because as seen in the video, I went a little more to the right than normal and I would fail if I kept holding W, or that is what I felt and reacted that way at that moment.
My computer is trash and I always experience fps drops during the game, here is a recent example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Hy1qOoQqU&t=4677s (44:38)
If in the end I end up disqualified anyway, it will be something that will disappoint me from you, Robert_M and FFS in general. If you don't believe in my words, that is your problem and not mine, and I also don't know what other proof I can send you.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
Stop cry and let Naval play.
-
Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
I dont care if Naval realesed 'w' or not but the rule is weird,
Im free to pick my opponents, and to see which is perfect for the finals.
And as Ryder said you will be never sure if he intentionally did it
Fps drop might happens, disqualifing him is just a big mistake to be honest..

Why should competitive distortion be allowed? Every player plays for his own and should try to finish first in every map and not let others win a map. If everyone would do it, there is no point in organizing such a tournament as their is no real competition (only the final)

If I secured my win i dont give a fuck about the rest rounds, we do it a lot in L7DM and in the official clanwars, after we win we just play for fun unless there was a challenge, its similar thing here, i won. Why would i fuckin' play seriously and show my best instead of saving my power to next stage?.

There is a difference between not tryharding and slowing down on purpose

How can you compare a team based tournament with a ffa wff tourney? What do you mean with saving your power to the next stage? Are you exhausted from matches for two weeks?

It isn't really so hard to believe , you may take a look at this moment when xecn was right on hunter pickup and suddenly gets fps drop which at end gives him 0 points while could get at least 2, despite being 1st the fps drop made him actually ~600ms slower than mixhet who was behind him. https://youtu.be/XtYH5imOAxo?t=205 I have found also several clips where people are "giving away points" or "acting like they don't know map" so I hope you won't be forgetting about them , but let's not forget also that some people might not understand how this game works and that rarely someone has same playstyle so it would be pretty dumb to judge someone the way he tried to prevent his issues that would lead to failing a map, unless you have some very solid proofs like this one where Limbo slowed down for Robert : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0IJmtBfwx8 , Or where Triplex slowed down for shael : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRHCH5_wq0E , or for example Zoilo who just drove off the road : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN-hmKKDDWY , one more where Anwix slows down, goes back and just drives off track : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkM5...outu.be&t=4535.
Edit : by the way, If u read carefully enough in wff os 9 thread, there is no rule about intentionally giving away points, so I would be very grateful if you could just show me first offense that happened by naval , since in WFF thread it says "Second offense results in disqualification" and if u could count this absurd proof then by my math that is just one

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
either way throwing for a friend on a tournament is just pulling yourself down if you ask me, but I don't see anything wrong with Navals move from any perspective I would do the same

I guess this rule will be taken way more seriously from now on, this behaviour is not really acceptable and I do think that everyone doing it should be punished. We all know this is not the first time this happens but this seems to be the most serious one being on Semi-Finals, all we can hope for is this to be a good warning for everyone that these things will no longer be tolerated nor ignored hence having a healthier competitive enviorement for everyone.
FPS Drops do happen a lot, yeah, but as someone who's been playing this game since 2011, Naval's thing on Out of Time doesn't look like FPS Drops at all and many will agree, and all that can be seen is Naval taking the curve like a RPG player for absolutely no reason and releasing W hence losing like 400ms (???).
In Darmos' clip shared by Naval himself you can clearly see the FPS Drops causing that rubber-band effect on him which is something that always happens in these scenarios, in Out of Time, there's no rubber-band effect at all.
This rule is old as hell, I remember it being first introduced after Driver threw for Walk on EoS leading to Shankz being out of WFF like 2 years ago, it is well known for everyone that it's not allowed to do anymore and it's a shame to see these things happening again and I really think it ruins the fun of all of this.

It really is surprising how everyone is considering Naval an unbeatable robot that can't make any minor mistake, even the best players can have bad moments, just my opinion.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
This is literally got out of hand, closed temporary.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
Without Naval it's not the final .verified.

Re: WFF 20 - 1/2 finals and Final
I personally see this situation get twisted by certain replies within the thread but the view(s) on this matter is clearly getting out of context and excessive to the point where half of the replies mentioned in this thread contradicts the whole situation. My name got mentioned here which is the reason for my upcoming lengthy reply.

Comparing both evidence provided by yourself, Naval, and Robert's evidence against you, you can clearly see the difference between what an actual FPS drop looks like compared to what you did on 'Out of time'. You do realise even a minor drop would be noticeable in the 'Out of time' clip. We both know that line you took was blatant. An elastic-band effect would've taken place (just like the evidence you've provided, which still goes against your own point).

This quote on it's own proves my point of allowing people to pass. It's happened in the past and he is well aware of the rule. But this is out-dated so let's move on.

This also literally goes against Naval's reasoning. A legitimate FPS drop would look somewhat to what you've provided. You've single handedly contributed evidence which goes against Naval's point so I want to congratulate you on that.

You're now stating Naval made a mistake and had a bad moment rather than an FPS drop. Essentially you're digging yourself a grave. There's multiple so called reasons and excuses made up that people reading this thread don't know what to believe anymore.
An additional point I want to make which isn't to do with Naval's situation is how people such as Ronnie and Foxik are capable of editing already perfectly drive-able maps in favour of them simply doing certain parts quicker. For example, the second wall-ride on Artificial Quietness, there's a layer of invisible on the bottom of the wall-ride to prevent players from dropping off. If anything this is sabotaging the map-list in favour of someone and was heavily edited during the stages of WFF, not before it. Let me just remind the future so called 'map-fixers', fixing is where you edit the map to prevent a certain bug from occurring (i.e. changing shades to the 6959 object to prevent bounces) and not where you simply edit a map and add a load of invisible objects for the sake of doing a certain part faster, have some respect to the author and perhaps try not to sabotage a map-list, especially for the biggest race-based tournament in MTA; it's sickening.
