    Introduction

    Good day! Today we would like to touch on issues, ideas regarding DD gamemode. For some time now, many people resent – down to exit from the arena, as well as constant sharp remarks towards FFS in general. Important note: All ideas what written bellow may have been already said by other players, it is done to remind them with minor modifications, since for a long time there has been no any changes.

    Arenas / Ping Limits


    At these moment Destruction Derby have 3 arenas: Alpha, Cross A, Cross xDD.

    Alpha – Pretty diverse arena on which you can play on all types of transport, as well as interesting and creative maps.

    Cross A – Almost all well-known cheetah maps, challenging arena on which people spend the most amount of time, exactly this what makes this arena unique.

    Cross xDD – Pretty fresh arena which was added recently. Main features – limitless spawns, the winner is the one with the highest K/D ratio.

    Problems and solutions:

    Alpha – Unfortunately, due to the lack of players a significant amount of time arena is empty. There’s no point leave it like that, should be deleted or some most used/good maps can be added on cross in order to diversify gameplay.

    Cross A – Everthing is fine, nothing to add.

    Cross xDD – That arena doesn’t really make sense to us.

    First of all, random spawns that could kill you in any time while you are driving on straight road.

    Secondly, lack of payers.

    In our subjective opinion, this arena should be removed. In that case will be an opportunity to add most used maps on Training arena with the ability to see other players.


    Special attention should be devoted to “Ping Limits”. Many players complained and doing it up to this day. It was commonly agreed that there is simply no way out of this situation.

    • Making special different arena – no point in it. We already have lack of players, we don’t want to lose even more. Much better spend time with a lot of people, rather than spending time with 5-7 players on the arena.


    • The problem of “Ping Limits” has been addressed before by creating separate arena, eventually culminated in failure.

    DD Clan War Arena


    Currently Clan War system outdated and never been accustomed to us.

    Random points - To this day, it is not clear why the “point” in the end of the round receiving player who joined last in Clan War room. In the DD scene we usually skip 1v1 fights, since it’s waste of time. It has been suggested many times to add “redo” command. Here are options how it will be arranged:

    1. Can be use only by “CW Managers”, “Leaders” and “Founders”. One team using “redo”, opposite team receiving message which can be seen in the chat., activation in the same way.

    2. Voting system, after using “redo” each team “CW Manager”, “Leader”, “Founder” receiving “voting panel” which activates by pressing 1 – yes or 2 – no.

    3. Before the Clan War, players in Panel can choose one or two persons from each team, that will be able to use “redo”, already during Clan War they may decide by themselves whether to have a “redo”.

    4. Only the last two players who are still alive can decide do “redo” or no. May be used as in the second example.

    5. If all possible proposals that written above could not be realized, at least this last “point” should be distributed randomly, without taking into consideration who joined last in Clan War room.


    STOP function – Nothing to explain what is it.

    1. Can be used in any way that has been said above.

    Training time – Already mentioned many times before. Main problem – amount of time, that need to wait before
    Clan War starts.

    1. Reduce waiting time to 5-10 mins.

    2. Provide option players select amount of time by themselves.

    xDDr Race


    Long-lived and well-known Race mode with DD maps. Our comrade @Waylon have already mentioned about this, click where suggested a “xDDr tournament”, which received positive reviews, we also fully support it. So why not make a separate arena? There was nowhere used before, it might help capture new people. Several maps are ready, but they are still not enough for a full-fledged arena. This should be resolved by community to create new maps, so arena could develop further.

    Conclusion


    That’s it for tonight. Sufficient time has passed, so that we could to explore all and understandably write about it, hope we did well! Indeed, we still believe and wish a Destruction Derby to develop on the right track, in order to bringing in new individuals and greet with the wide open doors old-school folks. Unfortunately due to some circumstances, thread without any examples, sorry for that.

    Sad fact is that the lack of players is actually due to the lags provoked by these high ping players.

    @Kowak you can also add to your ideas this:
    Voting panel (or cmd) to skip warm-up which takes 30mins. Of course, it must be accepted by both teams. If CW would be vs premiums skip would be accepted automatically if the whole team is full.

    //Edit, oh didn't saw you have it already in your post. So my idea can be another solution to this issue.

    Great ideas, I strongly agree with all the Clan-War room features you mentioned and think they are significantly important to bring back more activity within the DD arena.

    Also xDD arena should be removed since it has so many bugs in spawn which annoys players and gives some players unfair kills.

    Aplha - FunDD maps have always attracted the majority of DD players, the only disadvantage is that there are still many FunDD servers around. By removing this you would remove a potentional magnet for new players. The biggest drawback is that there isn't anyone managing/working on it? (as far as I know all Juniors and FFS DD members play at Cross for the majority of the time?)

    Cross A - Could list a few but most has been said/suggested before.. mostly down to scripting (if we take a look at how long it took to implement unlimited nitro I wouldn't get my hopes up for that.)

    Cross xDD - It has a lot of potentional and even without proper management it scores more players than other arenas often, now imagine it with proper management.

    Changes for DD CW Arena have been suggested many times before and also come down to scripting-

    MTA is in a state where it won't attract many new players so if you want to improve the attendance of the DD arenas you have to implement something to stand out from the crowd, like FFS did with the release of multi-gamemode. Playing around with arenas wil mostlikely do more bad than good as not everyone is too keen about playing "x" maps in an arena with much diversity.

    Ideas like xDDr would attract new players and I recieved a lot of possitive amount of feedback on that however the lack of people who want to "work" on things being realised let me down.

    Example would be the situation with xDD, it always attracted loads of people since 2012 but on the last few tours it didn't work out for certain reasons (known by a few). But instead of solving the problems and work on developing it further it simply got removed with the reason "xDDr will replace it". Note that xDDr was far from being ready at that time and even if it would be ready removing xDD tours completely would be a wrong choice.

    Any evidence for that? MTA has an increasing playerbase over the last few month, thats not a secret. Fact is you dont need a PHD to see the race scene is getting smaller over past few years. Players are more comfortable with other ganemodes like roleplay or battle royale. Just take a look at the top servers.

    Battle Royale is the newest game mode in MTA? Also roleplay servers usually get updated frequently and always had a bigger player count than race so I don't see why you are comparing them. I'm specifically pointing towards DD race servers with my comment as that's what this topic is about.
